Dr. Skye Sneed

Dr. Skye Sneed was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her B.S. in Ecology, Behavior, & Evolutionary Biology from The University of Texas at Austin and her DVM from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Her DVM degree track focused on conservation & avian medicine. Skye received the Schubot Avian Health Director’s Award and the Kaytee Avian and Special Species Excellence Award to recognize her accomplishments in avian research and her proficiency in avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery. She served for two years as both the president of the TAMU chapter of the Wildlife Disease Association and as Avian Chair for the Zoo, Exotics, and Wildlife club. Skye has more than ten years of wildlife rehabilitation experience and was previously employed at a bird of prey conservancy in Texas. She has also worked with exotic animals at the San Antonio Zoo and the Texas A&M Schubot Center for Avian Health. Skye is Avian Fear Free Certified, 40-hour Hazwoper Certified, and she maintains active memberships in various professional organizations (AAZV, AAV, WDA, IWRC, IAAAM, ARAV). In her free time, Skye enjoys hiking, birding, rock climbing, scuba diving, vegan baking, playing board games, and volunteering at wildlife rehabilitation centers.
