She spent another summer in India rotating through the departments at the veterinary school in Bangalore and completing an internship at Mysore Zoo. During her fourth year she completed externships at Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR and the Oregon Zoo.
Post veterinary school, she completed a one year small animal rotating internship at Oklahoma State University where she had the opportunity to work with exotics who came through the ER service as well as rotate through the zoological medicine service.
She enjoys learning about and working with new species and learning about their unique needs. Her veterinary interests include zoological medicine, international veterinary medicine, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
Outside of work, Dr. Dean enjoys reading fantasy and sci-fi, watching various shows and anime, and going for hikes. She is looking forward to being able to enjoy live music again. She lives with three cats and her fiancé.
