Dr. Kaleigh Eichel

Dr. Kaleigh Eichel is a graduate from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in Canada. During her time in veterinary school, she co-founded the Student Chapter of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, worked as a wildlife rehabilitator at the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, and worked in research investigating antimicrobial resistance on a calf-cow ranch in Alberta, and caribou health and population dynamics of the Dolphin and Union caribou herd in Nunavut. In her fourth year, she completed an externship in zoological, exotic, and wildlife medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, and a one health and shelter medicine rotation in small communities in the Northwest Territories. Her veterinary interests include veterinary point of care ultrasound (VPOCUS), surgery, and clinical pathology. Dr. Eichel shares her home with two affectionate doves, an adventurous dog who loves hiking and paddle boarding, and two mischievous cats.
