Dr. Andrew Acevedo is a graduate from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, in New York. During his time in veterinary school, he volunteered at the Janet L. Swanson Wildlife hospital, worked in research at Cornell investigating Salmonellosis mechanisms of action and parasites in Gambian pouched rats, and worked in Cornell’s Teaching Dairy Barn. He also completed a course in zoological veterinary medicine at the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center.
Post veterinary school, he completed a one year mixed animal internship in Western Nebraska where he practiced medicine mostly involving dogs, cats, horses, and cattle. He has a passion for continuing to learn new things every day and his veterinary interests include zoological and wildlife medicine, veterinary acupuncture, and emergency medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Acevedo enjoys video games, martial arts, baking, and exercising.
