Regular grooming is essential to the maintenance of your pet's health. Pets live healthier lives when they have a healthy coat and skin. Aside from keeping your pet smelling and looking attractive, grooming will help to prevent or impede such conditions as parasites and skin irritations.
While grooming should be done on a consistent basis, the frequency to which your pet needs to be groomed will depend on species, daily routines, coat type, age, and general health. Your exotic mammal pet will benefit from regular brushing to remove any loose hairs and dead skin cells, to rid the coat of debris, and to disseminate skin oils that form along the hair shafts. Long haired pets may require daily grooming at home to prevent mat formation. Birds and exotic mammals typically need toenail trims every 6-8 weeks.
We offer limited grooming services for exotic pets, including routine toenail trims, wing trims, and beak trims. We are also able to perform certain types of mammal grooming, including mat removal, bathing, and brushing. Depending on your pet’s species and personality, sedation may be necessary to safely perform these procedures. We can assist in recommending the proper tools to use at home for your pet's coat type.
We are happy to offer the following services to assist in the health and maintenance of your pet:
