Both of these organizations have wildlife veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitators on staff who can provide the specialized care that these animals need in order to thrive. Unfortunately, people sometimes unintentionally cause harm to wild animals by taking them out of their natural environment. Please do NOT pick up or transport any wild animal out of its current environment without first speaking to a wildlife center representative. Wild animals can be dangerous, and may carry diseases that can be transmitted to humans. Wild animals do NOT make good pets, and there are laws against keeping them in captivity without special permits.
